A&J's Floral Boutique, Sharonville's hometown florist, opened its doors in 1972 in a small 2-room building located on reading Rd. in what is now the north side of the Blue Goose parking lot. We had a single showroom with a large display window. We carried a full line of fresh, plants, dried and silk arrangements. We also were Cincinnati's exclusive retail designer's with Candelier Candles. The innovative candle designs were trademarked by the Tennessee company who cut thier own molds, modern designs to country roosters, and hand-dipped each candle in various color selections. Within the year we knew we would need to find a larger space. In 1973 we moved to a storefront, decorated as a huge indoor garden with two large display windows, a few doors north of Cliff Hardware.
10 years later the owner of the building wanted to expand his own business, so once again A&J's was relocating. This time we happily found our quaint 1850 rock-lathe house with it's 4 showrooms, 1 design studio, 1 floral workroom, and a "carriage house" with additional design and office space, at the corner of Main and Cornell Rds., where we are currently located, and getting ready to celebrate our 40th year in 2012.
